Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals/Vocaloid (2nd proposal)
Description[edit]
Vocaloid is a very broad subject matter that, even though it is a niche subject probably needing a taskforce, has so many grounds to cover in terms of types of content that i dont even know where to put a taskforce. This project, moreso a "miniproject" of sorts, a taskforce not directly connected to one project, rather than the at least 3 this subject matter would need. I know this had a former proposal roughly 10 years ago, but with the right people I believe enough work can be done to update this specific side of culture on en wikipedia -Astral~(he/him/his) 02:25, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

- Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?
As stated above. The subject matter of Vocaloid as a culture, and as a storytelling media, as a video game series, musical instrument, whatever. It's a broad subject matter. I would absolutely make this a task force if we had such a consensus, however, i am in such a firm belief that there is no one category that this would fit into.
Support[edit]
Also, specify whether or not you would join the project.

- miranda :3 06:51, 16 March 2024 (UTC) I can't really promise that I'd be able to commit much to the project as I mostly deal with anti-vandalism, but I do feel that Vocaloid is a broad enough subject at this point to justify something like this, much more than it would've been 10 years ago.
Discussion[edit]
AstralAlley, welcome to Wikipedia! A WikiProject is a group of editors, not a subject area. Until you have already found a significant group of editors (usually six to 12 active editors) who want to work together, you should not create any pages for this.
I suggest that you instead try to WP:REVIVE Wikipedia:WikiProject Electronic music, as that is probably the central subject area, and there are a couple of editors interested in the broader subject who might be willing to work with you. That said, if you'd like to find a bigger group, then Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games is probably the most active group that will have an interest in supporting editors who are working in this area. - yeah, as why i mentioned a taskforce in the original description. however i was like. "bro this is such a broad subject matter" i could hypothetically go into electronic music as a taskforce, but is there like. a rule against multi-project taskforces??? thats moreso why i made this proposal: to find what to do with this idea bcz the vocaloid subject matters on this site r... quite sparce..... and it's. broad. not just music (project diva, although vocaloid related, is a game series.) (kagepro, although started as a song series, is a multimedia manga anime series as of now.). thnx 4 the tips though, i will def look into these options. -Astral~(he/him/his) 11:42, 15 March 2024 (UTC)
