Phrases like:

The only way we know about his life is through the remarkable and most influential book in Marathi literature, Shri GuruCharitra written by Shri Saraswati Gangadhar, one of the most talented poet and philosopher ever known in Marathi literature in Maharashtra.

are obviously not neutral and must be removed. Actually, this entire article appears to be written from an in-cult point of view. --Wasell(T) 18:22, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

About Saraswat Brahmins[edit]

My name is Surinder Pal Sharma belonging to Saraswat Brahmin family. Our Gotra is KAANISH - TIWARI - SANGRAH as was told by my Father. My mother belongs to Chitchot Kaushal family. I was also told that we belong to the family of KAANISH Rishi. But on the internet I had tried to search about KAANISH Rishi, but no results.

I have got some details of our forefathers. I belong to Village Gholia Kalan in the district of Moga (Ex-Faridkot, Ex-Ferozepur districts). I have been informed by my father Shri Ude Ram that we actually belong to Village Ghal Kalan. When we had shifted from Ghal Kalan to Gholia Kalan is not known. But I had gathered some details of our forefathers from Haridwar. It reveals from the data gathered that our known forefather is SHRI NATHA, who had three sons- S/Shri Khema, Sahai and Bhutia. I belong to Sahai family. Shri Sahai had again three sons - S/Shri Sangtia, Sukha and Kishna. I am from Sukha family. Shri Sukha had again three sons - S/Shri Jawahar, Wazira & Hira. I belong to Wazira family. Shri Wazira had two sons - S/Shri Bhola Ram and Sawan Kumar. Shri Sawan Kumar had become Saint and was not married. I belong to Shri Bhola family. Shri Bhola had two sons - S/Shri Shiv Ram & Sri Ram. I am from Shri Shiv Ram family. Shri Shiv Ram have three sons - S/Shri Ude Ram (20-03-1914 to 11-08-1993), Lachhman Dass & Vasu Dev. Out these three Shri Vasu Dev -my Uncle is alive only and I belong to Shri Ude Ram family. Shri Ude Ram have three sons - Shri Hans Raj (eledest), myself - Surinder Pal Sharma & Amar Jit (youngest).

I am presently settled in Bathinda and working with National Fertilizers Limited, Bathinda as an Executive.

My request is that can I know more about my forefathers including the hierarchy of my forefathers before Shri Natha. It will be appreciated if I can know about KAANISH Rishi. My email id is iamspsharma@yahoo.co.in. ````` Surinder Pal Sharma 14945 Govind Nagar P.O. removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 03:41, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
