- While making this edit using my WMF account, it triggered an edit filter looking for email addresses ("Your edit has triggered an automated filter and has been disallowed. It looks like you're trying to add an email address to this page.") I think this is because I'm linking to wikimedia-l, and the address includes the mailing list name formatted as an email address. Reposting with my personal account worked fine. This would be the same situation as for Mastodon, perhaps it would be worth also adding a note if there's a work-around for linking to the mailing lists? Thanks. - Private – One or more of the filters triggered are private, and the request needs to be evaluated by an edit filter helper or manager. I think this is a rare case that likely only affects WMF accounts or alternative accounts. It should be possible to add an exception for it, but I'm not sure it happens that often. I found only 5 attemps by WMF accounts looking back till June 2023. Nobody (talk) 15:13, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- Note: Given the low FP rate here, I'm not sure if it's really that bad if the 5 attempts a year come to false positives. We have a fairly good turnaround on response times, but if any other EFM wants to take a crack at refining 247, feel free. --EggRoll97 (talk) 00:58, 23 May 2024 (UTC)

There is an apparent capital error on dates in this article on Meadow Lake. I have legal documents (Iowa Power of Attorney; POA) that state my GG-Gramps left Iowa for Meadow Lake, CA, dated Dec. 24, 1863. my GG-Gramma followed (documented by her POA) in April of 1863.
The Wikipedia article states gold was not discovered until 1864, the town built during 1865-68. which is too late. How would they have known the name of a town that wasn't yet built, or to come for gold that wasn't yet discovered, and the thousands of miners they hoped to sell to (as a general store operator) hadn't arrived yet?
